Children's Ministry

Is there just one God?  Who is God?  What is God like?  Does God love me?  Can I know God?

Our kids grapple with questions like these every day. At Mystery Island, we’ll uncover the truth about our Creator God! There’s a sea of confusion about who God is and what he’s like, so we’ll track down the one true God and learn how amazing he is through the pages of Scripture. Mystery Island VBS is packed with teaching that connects the Bible to the real world and gives kids a better understanding of our awe-inspiring Creator and the salvation he offers through Jesus Christ. Each day, kids will learn more about one of God’s amazing attributes (great, almighty, ruler, Emmanuel, trustworthy) and how that applies to their lives.

About Children's Ministry

Children’s Ministry at MABC is blessed and privileged to weekly present the gospel to children; and to help train children to know, obey, and defend God’s Word.

Currently, (beginning the week of November 1st) a team of volunteers lovingly serves parents and their children by teaching Sunday School outdoors during our Sunday service.  Children in Kindergarten through 5th grade are encouraged to attend.  Younger children may also join, if accompanied by an adult.

During the first part of the service children are in the main service as we sing, read Scripture, and pray as a church family.  At a break in the service, children follow our children’s ministry leaders to outdoor Sunday school.

We ask that parents personally sign their children in and out each week so we can help ensure the safety of our children.  This will also help with communication between parents and teachers. Sign-in will take place before the worship service begins.

The following procedures will be enforced in an effort to protect each other:

  • Children must wear masks at all times.
  • Children will be seated at a distance from each other and remain seated unless dismissed.
  • Children will be provided with a special Sunday school bag, clipboard, and materials at their 1st class.  We ask that each child please bring their materials and a Bible to class each Sunday.  We understand that these might be forgotten some weeks.  We will have additional sanitized materials available, as needed.

While we hope our Sunday schoolers will join us, families are welcome to stay together and remain a part of the main service, if preferred.

Our hope is that our children’s ministry is a supplement to what parents are already implementing at home, instructing, training and shepherding daily.  If you are looking for help in this area we encourage you to come talk to one of the pastors, elders, or volunteers on the children’s ministry team.

Please know that the lines of communication are always open and questions are always welcome.  We want you to feel confident putting your children into the MABC Children’s Ministry activities.

Please feel free to contact Amanda@mountabc.org.

We also encourage our Sunday schoolers to join us on Zoom weekly.  Join us for a time of discovering how God’s Word is our foundation!
